blr/further and BJC launch makemedicinebetter.org

BJC HealthCare's new campaign, created by blr/further, is urging everyone to stop arguing about health care and get on with the business of making it better. Using TV, print, radio, outdoor, online media and a strong in-house marketing approach to its 25,000 employees, the message from the St. Louis-based health system is "let's stop debating and start discussing ways to make medicine better." At the center piece of the campaign is a social website that facilitates the discussion and provides an opportunity for anyone to be heard as they voice ideas on how to make medicine better. Visitors who register can also nominate health care heroes, comment on blogs, and more. In its first week, the site had more than 1,000 unique visits to the site. www.makemedicinebetter.org

blr/further wins this year's Bellin Run...sort of.

Bellin Health of Green Bay, Wisconsin, hosted its 33rd Annual Bellin Run, a 10K event that attracts elite runners from around the world as well as thousands more who run for fitness and fun. It is considered by runners around the country to be one of the best events of its kind anywhere.

This year's race saw record attendance with over 16,000 participants, one of whom was blr/further's own Cary Bynum. When asked what he enjoyed most about participating in this year's Bellin, Cary cited the fact that he did not die.

On a more competitive note, as a corporate sponsor of the event, blr/further sponsored Tanzania's John Yuda, one of the world-class runners in attendance. Yuda won this year's race, posting a time of 28:05. To put that into perspective, John could have finished the race twice before Cary, who finished 4,926, crossed the finish line. Thank you, John.

Be sure to visit www.bellinrun.com for more details on the race and watch for videos to be posted of the runners crossing the finish line.
